Hello All! My apologies for not keeping up with the blog this past month! I have had a whirlwind of events on and with those winds a few weeks ago, I wasn't very motivated to be on the water! I am hoping they will settle down now through the winter, although the weather bureau says we are in for a wet winter!
Regardless, I have been out for a few casual, sporadic, spur of the moment paddles in the bay during the week and the water has been stunning! I am still trying to get out on saturdays as well, but also during the week 1-2 times to pick up the practice a bit. Today is a bit windy, but if it's a bit calmer tomorrow, i will be out again. I have been launching down at the woody point boat launch at 4pm and paddling to the Hornibrook Bridge, up the Inlet a bit and turning around to come back and that has been just over an hour. So if anyone is keen tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at 4pm, I will be there.
As for Saturday, I am up for suggestions on where to go. Not sure of tides yet, but i will have a look. Perhaps one of the rivers?
Also, my apologies Chris for not being in touch as we lost our phone last weekend at the wedding we were at. So here is my email, if you could just email me your number so we can still be in touch with the new number! It is megabeg20@yahoo.com
Also, there is a "Clean Up the River" paddle happening on the 5 June from 8-11 starting from Leis Park and paddling through Dohles Rocks via Acaia Park as part of World Environment Day and The upcoming Hays Inlet Festival. For more info, please go to www.prca.org.au.
Hope to see some of you on the water soon!!!
