Saturday, 20 March Kayak - Newport

After much thought about where to go out tomorrow, the decision has been made to head down the other end of the peninsula to the end of Endeavour Esplanande where the canal comes out to the bay and try to launch in the area there at 7a.m. The tide will still be quite low but if we can get out and about the bay in this area early there may not be as much wind, especially seeing how we have had all theses southerley's.
If it ends up being too rough or windy we may choose to go somewhere else. But we will meet down there first. Hope to see some of you out there! Cheers!

come bear the winds and paddle with us!

Happy Friday!
As per last weekend, I am still unsure where to paddle this weekend with these crazy winds from oncoming cyclones! We ended up sticking close by the peninsula last weekend and had a fantastic journey through the Boondall Wetlands up Nundah Creek just off of Shornecliffe, arriving back just as the winds were beginning to blow!
I am still unsure about tomorrow, 20 March, as the tides aren't agreeing with me, along with the winds. So I will update again this afternoon. I wanted to hit Bribie and go up the Pumicestone Passageway or Coochin Creek but not sure now. Will update this afternoon!

Come Along Thursday morning!!!

Hello Again! Didn't get a chance to update the blog last week before i headed out to Straddie Island for the weekend. We took all three kayaks with us and went paddling on both surf side and bay side, both of which were extremely fun! As that was my first time out there both being there and paddling there, I will definitely be going back to do a round from mainland to Peel Island or Straddie to Peel Island. Looks great! Another good one on a calm day would be from Straddie across to Moreton through the channel, and good practice for our upcoming Moreton trip!
As for two weekends ago, thanks to chris and paul for keeping me company all the way up the Pine River from Dohles Rocks Road to Lawnton and back! We had a great paddle through sunshine, rain and wind!
I thought I would try to get out tomorrow morning, Thursday, if this rain holds off. But it will be very early as i have to scoot to work by 7:30. So I will be out on the water by 5:30 if the conditions are good for it. I will be launching from the Pelican Park boat ramp in Clontarf and paddling to the Woody Point jetty and back. Hopefully the weather holds up!
If you can't make tomorrow, we will be heading up to Bribie on Saturday for a big paddle again through the bribie passage up to Caloundra area. I will update again tomorrow for exact times, etc. but it will be good if we don't get rained out!
Hopefully see some of ya tomorrow morning in Clontarf for a warm up paddle!
